  • Oxford Downs CC gain promotion to Div 2 of the Cherwell League again under Darryl’s leadership
  • Darryl was awarded Player of the Year for Oxford Downs CC 2nd X1 2015.
  • Darryl is voted in at the Oxford Downs CC AGM as their 2nd X1 team capt, a role which he is looking forward to in a very tough league with 7 first X1 teams playing in their division & to see how the young players play and adapt in this environment.
  • Darryl coaches both Oxford Downs CC and Langford CC to the Oxfordshire Village Knockout Final 2018 
  • Oxfordshire Over 50’s
  • Darryl skippers the Oxfordshire Over 50s to the Semi-Final of the National Cup Competition beating the likes of Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Kent and Somerset before losing to Essex the eventual winners of the cup! 
  • Darryl is awarded Oxfordshire Over 50 Player of the Year scoring 399 runs at an average of 44.3.
  • Darryl is appointed as Oxfordshire Over 50s Captain 2016- 
  • Darryl was awarded Player’s Player of the Year Award 2015 for Oxfordshire Over 50s and was presented with his trophy from Jack Brooks. 
  • Darryl scored his maiden county century in 2015. 
  • Darryl made his County Over 50’s debut and scored a 50.
  • Oxfordshire U17 Boys team won the one day National final for the first time in their history they beat Wiltshire by six wickets.
  • Cokethorpe School
  • Cokethorpe school play their first all girls Cricket festival and finish 2nd in their first year 
  • Langford CC
  • Langford CC 1st X1 Win Division 2  and Langford 2nd X1 win their divisionLangford CC win Division 3, get to the final of the local cup and the local Village Knockout 
  • Langford CC win Division 4
  • Langford CC win league Division 5 and two cups.
  • England Honours
  • Darryl made his England Counties Over 50s Debut in a Test Match v Australia for a replica Ashes Urn.
  • Darryl played for England Schools v a Touring Australian team at the age of 15.
  • Oxfordshire U17 Honours
  • 2019 Oxfordshire Win their Div 2 Title to gain promotion to Div 1 to play the likes of Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Staffordshire and
  • 2016 Oxfordshire U17 beat Cornwall by 8 wickets to obtain the Royal London National 1 day cup. 
  • 2015 Oxfordshire U17s get to the Semi Final of their National Cup Competition 
  • 2014 Oxfordshire U17 Boys team won the one day National final for the first time in their history when they beat Wiltshire by six wickets.
  • DWCC
  • DWCC adds Wednesday and Friday evenings at Burford School from 6.00-9.00pm pm for more coaching opportunities
  • DWCC have introduced cancellation charges as follows:Cancellation up to 48 hours before the event there will be no charge48 – 24 hours before there will be a charge of £20 whether indoors or outdoors less than 24 hours notice the full amount applies also whether indoors or outdoors. 
  • Stuart Murphy, ECB England LD Manager/Coach has joined the ranks for Saturday Morning coaching to replaceMatt who has decided to stop coaching on a 1:1 basis for the time being to concentrate on becoming a primary school teacher and we wish him all the best for this venture but will see him for some of the Half Term Courses in the future.
  • The winter coaching programme is now complete and the DWCC Saturday academy has seen many players some from beginning their pathway on cricket, some re-entering the game and some county and district youth players wanting to develop their skills more. The ages ranged from 6 yrs to 60 yrs old. Kingham Hill School in Chipping Norton and St Hugh’s School in Faringdon have also benefitted  from DWCC’s coaching and here’s hoping for good things for both of those schools in their summer match day programmes.The summer programme includes working again with Cokethorpe School, to help develop their girls cricket. Langford CC, and starting to work for the third time at St Peter’s School in Alvescot and Oxford Downs CC, along with Charlbury CC in 2017.
  • Darryl Woods Cricket Coaching is pleased to announce that Matt Woods, who has played for Oxfordshire, has joined the company. Matt is Darryl’s son and has an ECB Level 2 coaching qualification
