Oxfordshire U17s won the Royal London National One Day Cup beating Cornwall by 8 wickets.
Oxfordshire Over 50s Player of the Year 2016 having scored 399 runs at an average of 44.3.
Langford CC win back to back to back divisions and two cups.
Appointed Oxfordshire Over 50s captain 2016-
Oxford Downs CC 2nd X1 Player of the Year 2015.
Awarded Players Player of the Year for Oxfordshire Over 50s for 2015 after topping batting and bowling averages.
Appointed Temporary Head of Youth Cricket for Oxfordshire Cricket Board in Dec 2014 until August 2015.
Appointed Head Of Cricket Coaching at Cokethorpe School Witney Oxon, from 12th January 2015 to Current.
Made his debut in 2014 for the Oxfordshire Over 50’s and made a 50 on debut scored 343 runs at an average of 49 he also bowled 31 overs 1 maiden 139 runs and took 4 wkts at an average of 34.75. In 2015 he scored the most runs and took the most wickets.
In August 2014 his Oxfordshire Boys Under 17 team won the Royal London National One Day Cup for the first time in their history.
Darryl has represented Oxfordshire from the age of 11 and has captained all sides up to the Oxfordshire under 25 team.
He was in the Oxfordshire Minor Counties team that won the Minor Counties championship during the 1991 season.
He was runner up in the Coach of the Year award 2006 in the prestigious Oxfordshire Sports Partnership Award Ceremony held at the Witney Lakes in March 2007
In 2009 he received the Outstanding Contribution and Services to Cricket Coaching where he was awarded a certificate during the final Ashes test match at the Oval , presented by Mike Atherton. The press release is shown below.
Local Cricket Coach Recognised by Ashes Legend Michael Atherton
Darryl Woods from Witney was recognised for outstanding services to grass roots cricket by Sky
Sports presenter Michael Atherton at the fifth npower Ashes Test match at Oval yesterday.
Woods was presented with a coaching certificate by the ex-England captain as part of the Sky
Sports ECB Coach Education Programme. Seven coaches from Southern England met with Atherton
on the pitch during the lunch break of the fifth Test.
Over one hundred coaches from across the country are being acknowledged by the programme’s
‘Reward and Recognition’ scheme which comprises on-pitch presentations throughout the
summer by various cricket legends, including the Sky Sports commentary team.
Woods was chosen for the award because he has during the last three years made huge strides
in his personal development as a coach, achieving his Level 3 and obtaining various
coaching responsibilities within Oxfordshire Cricket, and additionally as a community coach and
continuing responsibilities within his club.
Woods has essentially taken sole responsibility for this which has had the effect of increasing the
amount of coach courses run in the County, inevitably increasing the number of coaches in the
County and the added value of increasing membership in the long term for the CA.
Following the presentation Woods commented “I am humbled to be recognised not only by my
county but also on a regional level. a huge thanks to Sky Sports and the ECB for their support in
helping develop and grow coaching in this country. It’s fantastic to be rewarded for doing
something you love”
The Sky Sports ECB Coach Education Programme aims to attract and train coaches at all levels of
cricket in England and Wales, from schools cricket to the international game. Since the beginning
of Sky’s sponsorship in 2006 nearly 13,000 coaches have gone through the scheme, more than
double the original target and for every professional cricketer in England and Wales, there are now
over 60 grass root coaches.
He had pleasure representing England Schools at the age of 15 beating Australia at Guildford. Scoring 27 not out.
He is also the chairman of the Oxfordshire Cricket Board Coaching Association.
After being an employee in the Insurance Industry for a period of 26 years, he has decided to take on the role as full time cricket coach for one to one, group, club and school coaching.
He is currently a UKCC Level 3 Head Cricket Coach
He has also undertaken the role of Oxfordshire Cricket Board Youth Head Coach for a number of years together with running Oxfordshire’s Emerging Players Programme (EPP) for elite performers between the ages of 13 & 16. He has also coached the Gloucestershire Academy players, Oxfordshire Academy and Oxfordshire Minor Counties Team.
Darryl is the coach for the Under 17 boys and U17 girls county youth teams and from 2011-2017 was in the role as the Oxfordshire Ladies Team Coach.
In 2012, he lead Oxfordshire U17 boys to winning their championship and Oxfordshire Ladies gaining promotion to Division 3 for the first time in their history, this was a part of a three year plan to do this and it was done in the first year which was a fantastic achievement and with the oldest player in the side being 20 yrs old, the signs for the future are encouraging . The Oxfordshire Ladies were nominated for Team Of The Year at the 2012 Oxfordshire Sports Awards, and came runners up.
He has previously coached at both Kingham Hill School in Chipping Norton and St Hughs School in Faringdon. Darryl is also undertaking some coaching at Oxford Downs CC, Charlbury CC and Langford CC.
He has been CRB checked and holds a Public Liability insurance policy with an indemnity limit of £5M.

Matt is an ECB Level 2 qualified coach with a wide background of knowledge to help enhance the player’s performance both physically and mentally. He is now training to be at teacher therefore his involvement with the coaching will be very much on ad hoc basis for the time being but is keen to continue his coaching career through this stage of his professional development.
Matt has represented Oxfordshire from the U15’s up to the development XI before he was eventually given the chance to play for the first team last season. Matt has also been in the Middlesex Academy from the age of 15 to 17. This is where Matt learned what it takes to become a professional cricketer and that turning up and going through the motions will not warrant you a place in an academy and for that matter a first class contract. He mastered drills and the mentality required to become an elite performer.
Matt went New Zealand for the winter of 2012/2013 to play and coach. He played for South Canterbury in the Hawke cup in which he took 29 wickets in four 2 day games which included 8, 9 and 10 wicket hauls. This helped South Canterbury to a Hawke Cup Challenge which they had not reached for 18 years. Whilst in New Zealand, Matt coached the South Canterbury U17’s, a variety of schools and elite players on a 1:1 basis.
Matt is a left-handed batsman and a right arm opening bowler. He plays for Oxford Downs CC in the Cherwell League Division one where he will open the bowling and bat in the middle order. He is also the club coach including match days and youth evenings.
